  1. Make sure the hair is dry and detangled.
  2. Apply a heat protectant.
  3. Separate the hair into sections of approximately 1 inch.
  4. Slowly pass the iron from the root to the tip in one smooth motion.
  5. Repeat as needed and allow to cool before styling.
