amika's Smooth Over primer shampoo is a professional clarifying formula designed for curly, wavy, or unruly hair looking to prep the fiber for the Smooth Over smoothing treatment, for an optimized result.

  • Clarifies and deep cleans: removes product residue and buildup that could block the smoothing treatment from penetrating
  • Preps hair for maximum absorption of the Smooth Over treatment by opening the cuticle and evening out the fiber's porosity
  • Water lily extract and sea buckthorn prep hair while preserving the fiber's integrity before the heat treatment
  • An essential step in the professional Smooth Over protocol for long-lasting smoothing results of up to 6 to 7 weeks

  1. Wet hair thoroughly.
  2. Massage the primer shampoo from the scalp to the ends to create a rich lather and remove residue.
  3. Rinse thoroughly.
