CND® Shellac Original Base Coat is the essential base layer of the Shellac system — dries in 10 seconds and ensures optimal adhesion of the Shellac overlay to the natural nail for impeccable long-lasting wear.

  • Dries in 10 seconds under UV or LED lamp for fast, professional application
  • Optimal adhesion to the natural nail for extended wear of the color polish and Shellac top coat
  • Compatible with all CND® Shellac color polishes and top coats — essential for a gentle, long-lasting UV manicure
  • Store at room temperature away from sunlight — clear finish
  • ⚠️ May cause an allergic reaction. Avoid all contact with skin. Keep out of reach of children
  1. Prep the nails and remove all traces of dust.
  2. Wipe with a cotton pad soaked in Scrub Fresh to dehydrate the nail.
  3. Apply a very thin coat of Shellac Base Coat and cure under a UV/LED lamp*.
  4. Apply a first thin coat of Shellac color and cure under a UV/LED lamp*.
  5. Apply a second thin coat of Shellac color and cure for 2 minutes under a UV/LED lamp*.
  6. Apply a coat of your choice of Shellac Top Coat and cure under a UV/LED lamp*.
  7. Remove the tacky layer with a pad soaked in alcohol (optional step when using Shellac No-Wipe Top Coat).
  8. Apply a cuticle oil to finish the application.

* Curing times will vary depending on the lamp model and wattage used.
