  1. Start on clean, completely dry hair.
  2. Apply a heat protectant if desired.
  3. Plug in the wave iron and wait for it to reach the chosen temperature.
  4. Divide hair into horizontal sections.
  5. Clamp a section between the three wavy barrels and hold for 3 to 5 seconds.
  6. Release and move down the strand, slightly alternating position to create continuous, natural-looking waves.
